ruby-lang.tk seems to be domain-parked now and redirects to sites on the other end of the alphabet for me.

When your free .tk domain becomes inactive, they squat it and force you to buy it back.

How about using GitHub Pages for a preview?

I would have to host it under an organization named the same as the repository, so that the gh-pages would be at ruby-lang.github.com/. The sites contents must be hosted at the root, otherwise all the absolute links would break.

Actually GitHub Pages wouldn't work, since they override markdown with rdiscount. All of the inline styles would not render correctly. Looks like my fork is temporarily coupled with kramdown.

I think you do not have to use the automatic page generation. Shouldn't it work when you push only the generated html and not the markdown?

Yeah I should be able to point _site to a gh-pages repository. Still need to register an organization though, ruby-lang doesn't appear to be taken.

It took a while, but http://ruby-lang.github.com/ finally built.

Nice 😄

Though it doesn't seem to be the latest version, e.g. i18n is missing.

Forgot that jekyll blows away _site, so I have to do:

jekyll --no-server --no-auto
cp -r _site/* _upload/
cd _upload/
git commit -a -m Updated
git push

Grr, GitHub Pages appears to have broken. http://ruby-lang.github.com/ is returning 404 now.

Maybe the gh-pages branch is causing trouble? That's needed for project pages, not for user pages.
And the initial commit (when gh-pages had not been created) was working fine. Of course, maybe a coincidence.

You are correct. I deleted the repository and re-pushed, now it's back up.
