Komac is a command-line tool that helps you create and update manifests in microsoft/winget-pkgs. With Komac, submitting new apps and updates to WinGet is straightforward and requires minimal intervention.
Existing manifest creation tools fell short in several ways. Some were insufficient, lacking the features needed to handle all the metadata efficiently. Others required you to install the app yourself just to gather more information, which was cumbersome and time-consuming. They were also all limited to Windows, generally slow, and had a slow development pace.
You might not think manifest creation is that complicated, but there are many different installers, and other tools overlook many of them. Komac was created to address this gap and handle the wide range of installer types whilst providing a faster, more comprehensive, and user-friendly solution for managing manifests.
