Rendered

Sorry, I started working on the draft late this time. I was planning to prepare an extended draft during 20ths of September but unexpectedly got totally swamped.

Ideally, this newsletter should be released on 1 October but I hope it's ok if it will be released a few days later this time.

Looking good so far 😄

Take your time - I think maybe once this issue is out we should raise an issue to discuss how we can get more people submitting their own stuff/news that interests them to the newsletter. Feel bad that all of the work is falling on you at the minute!

I'd love to do the section on rx, but probably best to wait for this to be merged first.

@cloudhead I'm not sure how long finishing and merging this will take, so I will be happy if you make a PR to this branch. :)

I would love to help with the Iced section too! I can open a PR with a short description.

EDIT: I see ozkriff#1 already fixes it!

Nice work on the newsletter!

I proposed a couple of spelling/grammar fixes.

Wow, this is such a big update! Amazing work compiling it here 👍

My biggest concern here is the "News and Blog Posts" that covers the most of the post and became a mixed bag of libraries, tools, and games. For example, it's weird to see gfx-rs update between two games updates.

Perhaps, we can split them in two groups: "Library & Tooling updates" and "Game updates"? I think that would roughly be a half and half split. Within "Library & Tooling" we could roughly try to order things in the order of dependencies, i.e. either from lowest level to highest, or the opposite.

@kvark I intentionally intermixed games and libraries but I guess I'm ok with adding more structure to the newsletter.

I've got a few questions though:

  1. What comes first - libraries or games?
  2. Should the Amethyst section be split into Library & Tooling updates/Amethyst and Game updates/Amethyst Games? Amethyst's logo, I guess, stays in the Library & Tooling part.
  3. Should the "Other News" section be split into Library & Tooling updates/Other News and Game updates/Other News?

Games come first. They're what we're ultimately trying to promote. Libraries only exist in service to games.

@kvark @Lokathor @17cupsofcoffee restructured and resorted as proposed. 🤔

I guess I should wait for a few more review approvals before merging after all this section moves.
