Sorry if this has already been asked or if this is already possible...

I know this question has been asked a few times before and it would be a great feature for someone like me who is offline when on the train heading to work, it would be a great use of my time to be able to read the Rust Book without needing internet connection.

Is there some sort of process which regularly takes the latest version and PDF's it for download online?

I may have dreamt this but couldn't you view the whole book as one big page before?

It may be downloaded from here: https://killercup.github.io/trpl-ebook/ but it's not very up to date

Hey @Jayflux !

Two things: this is the repository for the new version of the book, which isn't done yet. The existing book is all in the Rust repo. Over there, we have rust-lang/rust#20866 tracking it.

Secondly, yes, you used to be able to grab a PDF, but we stopped doing it at some point to save on build complexity. We want to bring it back, though, the ticket is tracking that.

Hi @kirkins, no need for "+1" comments, especially on closed issues.

This is being worked on over here and over here, please watch those issues if you're interested in notification on progress. Thanks!

To create PDF, just go to https://doc.rust-lang.org/book/print.html, click on print (top right) and then print/save it as a PDF.

Adding this helped with paging when printing:

@media print {
  .page * {break-inside: avoid }
  h1 {
    margin-top: 76px;
    break-before: page
  }
}
