Rust 1.89 vs 1.90: rust-lld can't find a system wide lib. Using -Clinker-features=-lld and all works as before

I'm not sure how to show where rust-lld is looking.

In my project - https://github.com/SentryPeer/SentryPeer:

./bootstrap.sh
./configure
make

fails unless I revert to system wide linker.

Are you able to provide us with a minimal reproducible example? Something self-contained (with/without cargo) would be great.

Can you post the result of this manual call to rustc:

that gives no output, but works.

Interesting. Is this library present in LIBRARY_PATH? What is your system you are running the compiler on and what is the other linker that finds this just fine?

What's the best way to print the answer to both of your questions? - -verbose?

This is on Fedora 42 workstation.

I don't know. Passing --verbose to rustc itself doesn't actually print anything if the linking succeeds.

Though the output of rustc --version --verbose (on its own, no other commands) would be nice.
