On a MacOS Arm64 system, Python 3 platform.machine() returns
arm64
and notaarch64
as on Linux Arm64 systems.For example: Ubuntu 20.04.05 arm64 (Pi 4), platform.machine() returns
aarch64
Hence need to adjust function
is_aarch64
to allow for MacOS Arm64 based system reporting differently.As part of update, updated pre-commit and dropped support for Python 3.7
