SeaStar pinning to cpu's is not optimal it does not utilize the maximum avilable cores in case of hyperthreading (at least not on the intel dpdk servers) #24

Running with --smp 2 and doing 'top + 1' it can be seen that Seastar pin's it threads to cpu 0, 14
checking /proc/cpuinfo

cpu 0,14 are actually on the same physical id, core id (0,0) : so they are actually sharing the same core while there are additional 27 cores avilable.

it seems deterministic I restarted the process 5 times and in all cases cpu 0,14 have been selected

the complete command line
sudo build/release/apps/httpd/httpd --network-stack nive --dpdk-pmd 1 --dhcp 0 --host-ipv4-addr 192.168.10.101 --netmask-ipv4-addr 255.255.255.0 --gw-ipv4-addr 192.168.10.185 --smp 2 --collectd 1 --collectd-address 192.168.10.185:25826 --collectd-hostname intel-dpdk1

I don't have access to this machine or its /proc/cpuinfo so maybe I'm
asking a silly question -
Is it possible that cpu 0 and 14 are not on the same core - one is the
0th core of the first socket, and the second is the 0th core of the second
socket?

You are right - my bad ....
it was different physical id ...

I am having hard to explain why it does not scale - thought I found it guess not.
