Setup question

How would one exactly get to the point, where you could input the lines of code you provide in the readme file?

I'm not even sure you'll read this but it's worth a try, thanks in advance.

I think I figured it out, but all files are without file extensions, I'm not sure if it's intended or not. Any help is appreciated.
