Post install

The pack can't do everything for you, but it tries it's best. There are a few other things I recommend doing after installation to improve your battery life, performance, and more.

Set TDP limit

You should set a TDP limit. This will make the battery last significantly longer while not affecting performance as it is already capable of reaching way over 60 FPS:

1. While Minecraft is open, turn the "per-game profile" on in the power menu of quick settings.
2. Turn on the TDP limit, and set it to something around 7. If you experience lag spikes or instability, try turning it up a watt or two. If you are planning on using shaders, I'd recommend a limit of 9 or 10.

Install CryoUtilities

You can also install CryoUtilities to improve general Steam Deck performance. Doing this should make it more stable and fast - not just for Minecraft!

Enable gyro controls

If you like gyro controls, you can enable them in your controller settings on the Deck:

1. While in-game, press STEAM, and head to the controller settings
2. Choose template, and select "Gamepad with Gyro"
3. Press X to apply the layout

Now, while you hold your finger over the right joystick or trackpad, it'll rotate the in-game camera with the Deck.
