I have been selected as a recipient of the full scholarship from the FutureSkills4All initiative, a project by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation. Through this program, I am enhancing my skills and knowledge in cybersecurity via an extensive learning journey on Coursera.
The Google Cybersecurity Certificate has eight courses that focus and build upon core concepts and skills related to the daily work of cybersecurity professionals, including foundational cybersecurity models and frameworks that are used to mitigate risk; protecting networks and data; using programming to automate tasks; identifying and responding to security incidents; and communicating and collaborating with stakeholders. Additionally, apply what is learned in each course by completing portfolio projects that can be used to showcase the understanding of essential cybersecurity concepts to potential employers. Two of my strengths that I have a remarkable ability to learn new technologies and upskill, I also have strong written and verbal communication. As for my values, I strongly believe in protecting user’s privacy and data. My main mantra is “People before profit”. My interest in cybersecurity stems from research that I have done on the use of social media, where public data were misused in elections. I want to be able to protect others, and companies, and be aware of such issues.
