I've read that creating a steam_appid.txt file containing the SteamAppId in the game directory
can "make the game DRM free" (likely it depends on the game if this works)
Does this have any disadvantages
for games which do not support this
for games which do support this, but are meant to be played with steamapi (f.e. for achivements)?
If there aren't any disadvantages, auto creating that file for every game might be nice to have,
else adding it as an option might come in handy

I would simply add a Checkbox.
If enabled the steam_appid.txt file would be created (if not already present), and if disabled it would be removed (if it exists)
The problem is some games ship a bundled steam_appid.txt and I'm not sure if it is (generally) safe to remove it.
Maybe parsing an additional own dummy file makes sense, but not sure yet if this overcomplicates the whole idea.
