Description
We intend to review and develop a plan for the following in the slanted (italic and bold italic) ASCII set punctuation glyphs:
- consistency of oblique slants across different glyphs
- consistency of oblique slant within glyph shapes (e.g. the orientation of the two points in a colon)
- deformation of intended glyph shapes (e.g. points in colon, semicolon, etc)
- uniformity of slant use across all punctuation glyphs (right now some are not slanted in the oblique and bold oblique sets)
This thread is open for discussion and input is highly encouraged as we plan for these changes. These will be changes that apply to uses of the fonts that largely exist outside of the body of source code itself (though may be associated such as use within comment blocks, string literals, and some syntax highlighters that use oblique formatting in the body of source code itself). Please feel free to chime in with your thoughts as the discussion takes place.
