Become a sponsor to OpenCoderX
I am a software engineer based in the United States.
I have previously worked for medium and large enterprises building critical systems using a variety of technologies.
My current projects use : Rails, Python, Go, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Neo4j, SQL Server and .NET.
After years of working primarily in the Ruby on Rails world, being pulled into different languages and frameworks, and finally returning to Rails for my latest project I have found many of the libraries and projects I grew to love have fallen into disrepair or otherwise found themselves without a consistent maintainer. While mostly stable it is still important for these projects be maintained, even if that only consists of security fixes. My goal of sponsorship is to offer my help to repository owners that have moved on or do not have time to triage issues, review pull requests and preform the other essential duties of open sources authors. We have all come across repositories that are used and loved my many other developers but for some reason have a large backlog of issues and pull requests. I'd like to become the LTS provider for many of these beloved yet abandoned projects.
While I am fortunate enough to be employed full-time, I still code for fun and take on freelance/side projects. I would use the funds from the GitHub Sponsors program to offset the income I would not be taking in from freelance projects.
Thanks for taking the time to read my profile! If you stumble across any repositories that are widely used but not supported, please send me a message and I'll get in contact with the current maintainer and work with them on an LTS plan.
