Become a sponsor to Jon Larrea
My name is Jon Larrea, and I'm a second-year PhD student at The University of Edinburgh. My passion is building all kinds of systems, especially if networks and low-level programming are involved. In terms of research, I would define my research area as mobile networks; however, it expands to multiple neighbour areas such as computer networks, cloud computing and distributed systems. My current research focuses on the design and implementation of future mobile networks.
What I've done
- Nervion: an open-source cloud-native RAN emulator for scalable and flexible 4G and 5G core network evaluations
- jonOS: an open-source implementation of the serverkernel architecture
- PS4 RTM: one of the first open-source libraries to remotely modify the memory of a process in a PS4.
- DS4Lib: A library to control the DS4 Controller (PS4 Controller).
What I'm doing
I'm currently working on multiple projects related to Mobile Networks.
- Building a new cloud-native 5G core network.
- Exploring new ways to improve TCP congestion algorithms for mobile networks.
- Exploring how to leverage Kubernetes to distribute workload on-demand.
Why is their sponsorship important?
Independently of the sponsorship tier, your support will enable more open source tools and systems that the community can benefit from.
