Become a sponsor to SopherApps
Hi,
My name is Martin Ahindura, originally from Uganda, the pearl in the middle of Africa :-)
I am now living and working in Sweden.
I started SopherApps in order to build simple but essential applications that ordinary developers and scientists can use to build their own great products. This is why all my projects have the wonderful permissive MIT license.
Your sponsorship, first of all, lets me know that I am actually building something useful enough to make a person want to support me.
The other reason is the fact that I work basing on fixed-term contracts. This means that there are long periods when I have no real income.
It is especially harder due to my country of origin being Uganda.
Almost every other company willing and able to hire me, requires me to already have permission to work in their country, even if it is remote work. :(
And unfortunately, at this time, local work from Uganda is not available because most companies are looking for far less experienced engineers, owing to the nature of the work and the depth of their pockets.
Your sponsorship would encourage me to keep producing good software that I rather enjoy creating.
Thank you very much for your kindness.
