I have tried to use URLs with a ipv6-address as host part (I use mdns to resolve the service-address).
For enabled that i've written a possible solution.

Hi Andreas, I'm not ignoring this pull request. I simply haven't had time to evaluate IPv6 in RestTemplate yet. I'm working on releasing 1.0 of Spring for Android at the moment, and I'll circle back to this for a post 1.0 release.
