The introduction of generified listeners is nice but framework extenders that take this route need (due to the way generics are implemented) to do type filtering similar to GenericApplicationListenerAdapter. It would be nice to have this functionality opened to the main user based as some sort of static method.

I've factored out common resolveTypeArgument(s) methods to GenericTypeResolver. Those are not even tied to listeners and events; they may retrieve any type argument(s) of a specified generic interface. We're using it for ApplicationEvent resolution but also for Converter and Formatter type introspection.
