A Docker container that pushes the status of a livemasjid stream to MQTT.

Usage

Home Assistant Example Usage

This can the be utilized in Home Assistant or similar as a trigger for automations such as when to cast the stream to a device.

1. Add the https://github.com/alexbelgium/hassio-addons repository to Home Assistant and install the Portainer add-on. Follow the Portainer guide to ensure it is running.

2. Follow the following guide to install and setup the MQTT Broker add-on: https://youtu.be/dqTn-Gk4Qeo?si=LuSZHHoVtF8OkdJj

3. Using the Portainer add-on (default username is admin and default password is homeassistant), create a new container by first clicking Live connect and then Containers. Click Add container and use the sufyanmotala/livemasjid:latest image. Add the following environment variables:

MQTT_BROKER: ip of mqtt broker # Replace with your MQTT broker IP, usually the IP of your Home Assistant instance
MQTT_PORT: 1883
MQTT_USER: username # Replace with your MQTT username
MQTT_PASSWORD: password # Replace with your MQTT password
MASJID_SURL: http://livemasjid.com/cambridge # Replace with your masjids stream URL
POLL_INTERVAL: 5

4. Install the Studio Code Server add-on on Home Assistant.

5. Using the Studio Code Server Integration, add the following to your configuration.yaml file on Home Assistant:

5. Create an automation in Home Assistant to trigger when the LiveMasjid Stream Status changes to ON:
