Crucial features

  • Edit templates on the service, send via API
  • 25k sends free, then $1.50 / 1k sends
  • Could be very cheap for low volume users because there's no monthly minimum
  • Outrageous list of clients, includes major names
  • Free up to 100k emails / month
  • Supports nested variables, if / else and each
  • $10/mth for 40k emails
  • Template library, drag & drop editor
  • Supports versioned templates
  • $59/month for 2.5k contacts, 5k emails / month
  • Includes in app notifications via their SDKs
  • Not really a transactional email service, but worth thinking about
  • Expensive as hell compared to others
  • Doesn't have support for push notifications (yet?)
  • Starts at $9/mth for 500 recipients
  • $10 per 50k emails, no expiry
  • Could be cheap for low volume users
  • Looks like a somewhat cheap clone of the top dogs, but maybe marginally better than ElasticEmail
  • Free up to 25k emails / month
  • Looks a bit basic, like a cheap clone of the big names
  • Free up to 2k emails & 2k api calls / month
  • $15 for 5k + 5k / month
  • Has what looks like a basic template editor, launched Feb 2016, bit late to the game
  • €29/month to remove their branding

Notes

The following services don't support transactional templates, which means the email content has to be built in the application, non starter.
