This error occurs when the value for "Tab icon size" is set from 8 to 15 in the settings under GUI.

21:08:00: can't open file 'D:\SuperSlicer_2.3.xx.x_win64_210906\resources\icons.png' (error 2: Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden.)
21:08:00: Failed to load image from file "D:\SuperSlicer_2.3.xx.x_win64_210906\resources\icons.png".
21:08:00: Internal error: Could not load bitmap:

Downloading or unpacking again did not change anything

My only solution to start the program again to change the value was to create a file with the name ".png" (this has to be a PNG, otherwise there will be an error that it is not a PNG
