The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Technology Services Accessibility Testing team conducted an Accessibility Review of Sympa on September 25, 2023 and found 26 issues that need to be fixed to make the interface accessible for visual impaired users.

Expected behavior

Elements in the attached image in Steps to Reproduce (below) not being inside container with proper landmark roles.

Actual behavior

All rendered content must be placed inside of container elements with appropriate ARIA landmark roles. Landmarks provide a way to organize the various types of content on a page for users of assistive technologies. The organization of content regions using landmarks is functionally like the way visual designers organize information for people who rely on a graphical rendering of the content.

Steps to reproduce

Sympa Accessibility Issue - 1 was determined by an Automation Tool Evaluation using AInspector and Siteimprove Accessibility Checkers as automated accessibility evaluation tools.

After running these automation tools the following issue was identified:
