Ran into issue #61 when using Timbre for the first time yesterday. I don't think this is something Timbre can solve, but I do think this is something Timbre should make its users aware of.

Added a little note to the README so that potential users are aware of the need to call (shutdown-agents) unit this is resolved in Clojure itself.

Hi Chris, thanks a lot for this - sorry for not replying earlier. Planning to cut a new release of Timbre shortly. Going to be rewriting a signf. portion of the docs, will make sure to mention this.

BTW, have an experimental workaround for this in v4. Will see if anyone runs into further issues.
