1. Get some reasonable toolchain.

$ wget -c https://releases.linaro.org/components/toolchain/binaries/7.3-2018.05/arm-linux-gnueabihf/gcc-linaro-7.3.1-2018.05-x86_64_arm-linux-gnueabihf.tar.xz
$ tar xf gcc-linaro-7.3.1-2018.05-x86_64_arm-linux-gnueabihf.tar.xz

2. Get kernel sources.

$ git clone -b v4.19 --depth 1 git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git

3. Copy config from this repository to linux kernel directory.

$ cp iio/config linux/.config

4. Prepare kernel, DT & tools.

$ cd linux
$ export ARCH=arm
$ export CROSS_COMPILE=~/gcc-linaro-7.3.1-2018.05-x86_64_arm-linux-gnueabihf/bin/arm-linux-gnueabihf-
$ make oldconfig
$ make -j4
$ cd tools/iio
$ make

5. Compile debugfs_overlay module

$ cd ~
$ git clone https://github.com/tduszynski/debugfs_overlay.git
$ cd debugfs_overlay
$ make -C ../linux M=$PWD
