Don't be confused Sieve and ManageSieve are distinct.

Sieve is a kind of programming language to define mail filters. An interpreter is shipped by default with dovecot.

ManageSieve is a protocol to externally edit Sieve script. To my knowledge dovecot does neither ship or enable ManageSieve by default. The dovecot ManageSieve implementation is called pigeonhole (https://github.com/dovecot/pigeonhole) and the documentation including configuration instructions can be found here (https://doc.dovecot.org/admin_manual/pigeonhole_managesieve_server/)

If you check the Debian packages, you can see dovecot-core suggest dovecot-sieve but it does not suggest dovecot-managesieved. This means dovecot-…
