In order to ensure our project is not hostile or unwelcoming to potential users, contributors, and admirers, we can adopt a Code of Conduct.

You can see that many communities we interact with also carry a code of conduct:

Since TiKV is now a CNCF project we should consider adoting their CoC. (https://github.com/cncf/foundation/blob/master/code-of-conduct.md) since theirs is specific to them, we can use the Contributor's Covenant that theirs is based on.

I have used my email in the contact field for now, and will actively and privately address any issues raised. It would be preferable to have a coc@pingcap.com email for this though.

maybe we should add an account for it

But who is responsible to receive coc email?

At the moment I am very happy to receive these and report them to the relevant parties. Perhaps the person to deal with Chinese language reports should be different though.

I think @queenypingcap might be a good option as well. :)

I don't think we'll receive these very often at all, and I think when we do we need to handle them with care and empathy.

@Hoverbear Please update the email to coc@pingcap.com now that we have an alias just for this matter.

@queenypingcap Amazing! That's even better.

Use the Contributor's Covenant.
