gamehub doesn't prevent monitor sleep #426
Comments
IMHO this shouldn't be done by gamehub, anyway here's an external tool that does what you want and even can be automated to do it: https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/517/caffeine/ |
well I'm not sure, typically you want the application to automatically disable/re-enable sleep as appropriate. native games do this, steam does this, video players do this. it's something I expected gamehub to do. I definitely wouldn't expect people to install an external extension to manually toggle it every time they go to play a game. |
and that extension's codebase on github says in large type: "This extension is not maintained anymore". |
Added for the next release. |
Expected behavior
When I game, monitor idle sleep behaviour is disabled.
Actual behavior
When I game using gamehub, at least for things using wine64, my monitor goes into sleep mode after 5m (per my gnome prefs), even though I'm actively playing a game.
Steps to reproduce
Play a game under gamehub with wine-staging from the winehq ppa on ubuntu 20.04.
