Examples of cluster and schema linking.
The idea of this demo is to create a source cluster and a destination cluster, the product
schema and data are created in the source cluster/schema registry and it is replicated to the destination cluster using schema and cluster linking. We make use of schema contexts to isolate subjects and topic prefixing.
The idea of this demo is to create a main cluster and a disaster recovery cluster, the product
schema and data are created in the main cluster/schema registry and it is replicated to the disaster recovery cluster using schema and cluster linking. We then, stop the main cluster, move consumers and producers to disaster recovery, restart the main cluster and move the data back
The idea of this demo is to create two clusters where data is produced in both clusters and consumers consume data generated in both clusters. Cluster and schema linking will be used to send data from left cluster to right cluster and another link will send data from right to left.
CP 7.5 includes this new bidirectional link option allowing to create one element that manages offsets and data.
Cluster Linking has not yet been fully tested to mirror topics that contain records produced using the Kafka transactions feature. Therefore, using Cluster Linking to mirror such topics is not supported and not recommended. But, is there a way to detect transaction and abort in a DR cluster?
