Describe the bug

Today I updated the steam client through the update section. After it rebooted, it was slow to boot, and now wifi on WPA2-Enterprise isn't working.

What did you expect to happen?

Wifi working

Output of rpm-ostree status

Hardware

ROG Ally X

Extra information or context

Is there any way to downgrade? Not sure what was in that update, but it broke it.

ostree:1 works, but 0 (the default) doesn't.

Are you dual booting?

Just want to chime in to confirm that I'm seeing the same issue on my Steam Deck LCD running Bazzite: after an upgrade to version 41.20241118.2, WPA2-Enterprise wifi authentication no longer works (but networks running other authentication methods appear to be unaffected - at least WPA2-Personal still works fine). Rolling back to my previous deployment (41.20241112.1) allows me to connect to the affected networks again.

We may need to pin this package in main

This fixed it for me.
Two other ways I've found to let the connection go through are:
A) Enable pkcs11-module-load-behavior = early in the /etc/pki/tls/openssl.d/pkcs11-provider.conf
B) Enable legacy providers in /etc/ssl/openssl.cnf
