The following process serves as guidance to the OSCAL team members tasked with reviewing the backlog for issues related to all OSCAL repositories. The process will be repeated periodically.
- All open issues will be reviewed.
- During the review all issues older then 6 months will be labeled as
Aged
. - All issues not labeled
Aged
will be processed on the triage board based on the priorities and the work assigned for each sprint. - All
Aged
issues will be processed as follows:
- Low priority,
Aged
issues for which time will not be allocated to address them, will be marked with the labelcloseable
. -
Aged
issues scheduled to be reviewed on the next triage will be marked with the labelquestion
. - Reviewed issues marked with
Aged
+question
for which time will be allocated will have the labels removed. - Any reviewed issue marked with
Aged
+question
for which time is not allocated for more than 6 months will be marked with the labelcloseable
. - All
Aged
+closeable
issues are closed each month. - If a closed issue is later determined to be a priority, then the issue will be re-opened.
- Once the review is complete issues opened since the
Aged
mark and any issues unlabeled asAged
will be evaluated. - We will need to evaluate issues opened since the Aged mark, plus any issues unlabeled as Aged.
NOTE: issues marked closeable
are not closed immediately so the community members can provide their input.
