Currently the toolchains especially the xslt-m4 folder is due for de-cluttering and defenestration of unused materials, as well as documentation.

Clutter and confusion creates an unwanted degree of friction doing something that is already difficult.
Everything in the repo should work; should be well documented; and should not be just "to save for later".
NB: retest everything as we go to ensure we drop nothing by moving too fast!
This Issue could be performed along with #163.
