Evening Outing Ideas

"Why go out when you can stay in and hack?" — @davidwhogg or, in other words, let's find some bars with wifi!

With the exception of Thursday, each evening during the week will be free, and we encourage you to take advantage of all Seattle has to offer. Seattle has an excellent bus system, as well as services like Uber, Lyft, and Car2Go.

If you'd like to lead a group on any evening excursions, please list your ideas here!

Undesignated Ideas

  • Gasworks and Greenlake park are always favorites. Gasworks is at the very threshold of walkability. Greenlake is easily bused to.
  • For restaurants, Etta's near pike place market has great seafood. Also Eastlake Bar & Grill and Little Water Cantina are solid spots to grab food.

Sunday

  • From the pre-workshop info email: "meet up with other folks starting at 7:00pm at the District Lounge This is located at Hotel Deca, at the corner of Brooklyn and 45th a few blocks Northwest of the University."

Monday

Tuesday

Wednesday

Two MacArthur Fellows at UW! http://artsuw.org/event/prod_id/6962 I (Beth Reid) will try to buy tickets Tuesday at lunch. Ping me if you want to join.

Thursday

  • Group dinner/hackathon hosted at Tableau Software (map). Getting to/from Tableau is up to you: it's about 2 miles from the main Hack Week location. If you're staying in the University Inn, you will be able to take their hospitality shuttle: please see the front desk. For public transit, you can take King County Metro Route 31 or 32 directly to the location.
