Remote pick process

What is the problem and how did you get there:

When remote debugging with "attach", it would be nice to be able to pick a remote process PID. ${command:pickMyProcess} only shows local processes. In principle, it should be possible to use the running lldb-server platform to get a list of processes on the target system.

Thanks for suggestion, but I don't think this is feasible, because expressions in launch configurations are expanded before the debug adapter gets launched.

How about a mode where the prompt is just a text box so I can type or paste it in?

You can already do that using VSCode's input variables.
For example:
