Wrong start menu position display on the secondary screen #2517
Comments
You are running an insider preview build: https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2023/11/16/announcing-windows-11-insider-preview-build-22635-2771-beta-channel/ EP is not guaranteed to run on that. And unless you are a software developer, you shouldn't be running that. |
Okay, thank you for let me know this😁👍 |
I am also experiencing this problem, though it only occurs when I have the Start menu position set to "Center" opposed to "At screen edge". On my primary display it opens fine, but on my secondary display it opens from the top of the screen and clips into the other. When I switch the position to "At screen edge", the problem doesn't occur and the Start menu opens correctly on the second display. EP version: 22621.2506.60.1 (current) |
If this is happening for you, but under different circumstances, please create a new issue. |

ExplorerPatcher 22621.4317.67.1 Windows 11 Home Version 23H2OS build 22631.4602 Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1055.0 My apologies if I'm wrong, but I've searched and this seems to be an open issue with no fix or workaround. This started for me on one of the Windows updates. I've tried every combination of left center etc that I can think of and cannot get this to work properly. Basically, Start Menu opens correctly in the Primary monitor, which is on the right, if the Mouse is used on the Start Button. When Windows Key is pressed, Taskbar opens in the Primary monitor, but the Start Menu opens in the left monitor. (The only variations may be that my task bar is on the left of the primary monitor only and hides automatically, but I've tried changing those to no avail. Here's yet another screenshot so you don't have to go back to the first comment. |
When using a multi-screen monitor, the start menu on the secondary screen is displayed in the wrong position when the Windows key is pressed.
Clicking the windows icon on the secondary screen can display the position correctly.
