Why does the SDK say Development of AI SDK RSC is paused. We recommend using AI SDK UI. Why is this? |

There are several long-standing limitations with AI SDK RSC that have been causing pain for our users, and there are no good solutions in the near term: https://sdk.vercel.ai/docs/getting-started/navigating-the-library#when-to-use-ai-sdk-rsc To avoid people running into these issues, we recommend using AI SDK UI. We may resume work on AI SDK RSC once there are paths to resolving the underlying limitations. |

This is incredibly disappointing. Teams have built their product strategies around your SDK, trusting in its reliability. It feels like we can't count on a stable response from Vercel when it comes to the AI SDK. It’s baffling. If there are issues, communicate them clearly—don’t just leave your clients hanging. The hype behind RSC from Vercel is now a dead end? |

@lgrammel any idea on the timeline for the migration guide? I'm in the middle of refactoring off of streamUI to streamText + createStreamableValue. I'm assuming I should go ahead and move off of AI/RSC entirely, including the hooks around |

@patrick-moore ideally yes - you can still use AI SDK RSC if you want to, but there are several limitations that will remain for the time being, leading to UI issues such as component remounting (see https://sdk.vercel.ai/docs/getting-started/navigating-the-library#when-to-use-ai-sdk-rsc ) for details on the limitations. |

SO what happens to all the Generative UI paradigm? AI SDK UI doesnt support component generation . |

@kaushal-freshworks AI SDK UI supports generative UI as well. However, rather than streaming a component from the server, you stream the tool call data and then render the component on the client with useChat, or you stream objects with useObject. You can find more information here:
