Overview of the Issue

The regression fixed in #5027 should have been caught by CI.

Confirming this is still an issue. I created the same error, and tests are passing incorrectly.

#5717 was another regression that should have been caught by CI. We do not test custom my.cnf template files.

Bit us again with a regression in fce4cfd we had to fix in #6794
