Game seizes keyboard control #1
Comments
Currently, you can use the toggle command (ctrl-alt-a) to close the game, and all buttons will be back, but, yes, the process will lose. You've made the point here, there should be a boss-coming mode! |
Phew, just in time! ;) Agree it'd be nice if the command palette worked normally, the shortcut to toggle were displayed in-game, or there was a special boss mode. Any would be nice, and persisting the game in between would be sweet! |
LOL, ok, I'll work on these issues, don't forget to watch the repo to get notified! ;P |
Hey @christhekeele , checkout the new version, and try out the boss-is-coming mode! While playing, simple hit |
Oddly enough, the initially the update seems to exacerbate the issue: launching 2048 from the command palette shows the game, but 1) the game doesn't seem to 'launch' correctly—no initial squares are visible on the game board, and 2) any 'special' interaction from the keyboard—mod keys, arrow keys, etc—delegate to the editor, so I can move my cursor through the underlying file, open the command palette, and so forth—but all my normal alphanumeric keys affect neither the underlying file, the palette, nor the game board. However for any future issuer submitters, restarting Atom shows that the dismissal keys ( Goodbye, work week! |
That's odd, I haven't experienced the first situation, let me take a look... Thanks for the issue! |
Pretty sure it only occurs if updating without restarting Atom... A lot of in-development plugins I've been using for Atom exhibit odd behaviour if the entire app isn't restarted after an update. I wouldn't worry about it. The plugin ecosystem is still fresh, I'm confident that if plugin updates don't properly reload themselves, the fault isn't necessarily with the developer. Whether or not restarting the editor is necessary during updates is very much out of your control. Thanks for the support! If your life isn't already beleaguered by 2048, I highly recommend the 3D and 4D versions. (And by highly recommend I mean do you really hate yourself that much?) |
LOL, well, life is short, I'd rather not ruin my brain by playing the 3d or 4d version! Thanks chris! |
Once I'm in the game, it captures all keyboard input. I can pull up the command palette, but I can't type into it (namely, to toggle the game off). That means no boss-is-coming mode!
