Currently, the tagging mechanism works to include only content relevant to the tag. It would be helpful to have a mechanism that meant content could be excluded if all its relevant tags were excluded

For example, I am assessing some content that has no audio at all. Therefore anything related to audio is irrelevant. Instead of having to select all the tags except audio, captions, and subtitles, I should be able to filter those things out.

Or I have done a partial assessment, and don't need to consider images and buttons - I want to exclude those and check the rest of the guidelines.

Hi @chaals, thanks for your feedback. We’ll see what we can do. The interface is already relatively complex. Would a “select all tags” button help? (Or probably all tags should be selected by default anyway…)

Hi @chaals (and @Ryladog),

thanks again for the excellent proposal. I discussed this issue internally. We see the use case, however unfortunately it is not an easy issue to address:

  • Currently if you want to confine the view to only one topic, you can just click the tag.
  • If we had a select all tags button, we probably want to select all tags by default for usability reasons (it makes no sense to have a function to select all tags, have non selected but still display everything in the content section).
  • If we would do it, people who want to select only one tag would then have a two step process.

While we’d like make a quick change, we want to explore existing design solution and introduce the feature in a way that is easy to understand – the user interface is already relative complex.

Best, Eric
