##Streamzap Getting the Streamzap USB remote to work under Linux is currently trivial and does NOT require the use of LIRC any more although LIRC does provide the ability to map the same keypress to different actions under a variety of applications.

The repo contains several config files that work with v4l-utils and any modern Linux kernel as well as files to allow operation with LIRC, specifically for mythtv, kodi, and mplayer.

Option #1 - Full featured operation of mplayer, mythtv, and kodi using LIRC.

Setup LIRC

• Install lirc for your distro.
• Place 00-streamzap-20160813.conf in /etc/lirc/lircd.conf.d/ (note this was regenerated using lirc 0.9.4.b to prevent some key doubling observed with the original file still kept here named 00streamzap.conf).
• If using Xorg, place 90-streamzap-disable.conf in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ to keep the remote from being seen as a keyboard and doubling key presses.
• If using an ARM device such as a Raspberry Pi, the 90-streamzap-disable.conf method will not work since these devices do not use Xorg. Instead, blacklist the offending modules by placing streamzap-blacklist.conf in /etc/modprobe.d/ to suppress this behavior.
• With the release of lirc v0.9.4a (June of 2016), users need to edit upstream's provided /etc/lirc/lirc_options.conf with these changes:

driver          = default
device          = /dev/lirc0

• Start lirc using your init system (systemd, openrc, upstart, etc.)

If the included 00-streamzap.conf does not work for you, consider generating your own with irrecord.

irrecord --device=/dev/lirc0 streamzap

Follow the included instructions. It is doubtful that the actual scancodes have changed, so you can likely just copy that section into the new file.

For mythtv and mplayer

• Place the .lirc dir from this repo into your homedir.
• Place .lircrc into your homedir.
• For mythtv only, create a symlink in your ~/.mythtv/ to ~/.lirc/mythtv/ ln -s ~/.lirc/mythtv ~/.mythtv/mythtv

For Kodi

• Place Lircmap.xml into ~/.kodi/userdata/
• Optionally place remote.xml into ~/.kodi/userdata/keymaps/
• Optionally place audio_switch.py in ~/bin/ (note you likely need to edit the code to match your system, see the thread in the comments).
• Two suggested icons are included. Place them in ~ as shown in the script.

Kodi Files and Formats

• Lircmap.xml - Maps kodi_buttons to LIRC_buttons. (<kodi_button>LIRC_button</kodi_button>)
• remote.xml - Maps kodi_buttons to kodi_actions. (<kodi_button>action</kodi_button>)

The two together allow for: LIRC_buttons <--> kodi_buttons <--> kodi_actions.

Option #2 - Basic operation of mplayer using only the v4l-utils package.

• Install the v4l-util package (your distro provides this in all likelihood).
• Modify /etc/rc_maps.cfg so the streamzap line points to /etc/rc_keymaps/streamzap.local
