Server Make and Model displayed in Center #147
Comments
start to look into this |
@OiWitcher I think that is something you would like to see in the next release ;-) |
merged to development and release-xcp-ng-8.0 |
@borzel please don't forget to try to get your work upstream. This will reduce your burden to re-merge all the diff for each XenCenter release |
In my option it's not worth the work I put in. We all know they don't integrate the fancy stuff. |
Why? Are you sure? I have the feeling they might accept your PRs. |
@olivierlambert I have to implement it into a plain xenadmin, test against a XenServer (because connect to XCP-ng will fail because CITRIX don't want xenadmin to connect to foreign XAPI servers), PR it. If I don't PR it, I have less work. |
that's not the case any more, I created an up2date development branch in which I integrade the current upstream master from time to time. |
IMHO, going upstream is the right strategy. Because you'll have to maintain more and more your branch, and sometimes it could lead to an impasse. Also, pushing upstream is playing the Open Source game. At least try to make a PR, we'll see if they are willing to accept. |
I whish me a better upstream game master :-/ .... will try to put a PR together... |
#147 # Conflicts: # XenAdmin/TabPages/GeneralTabPage.Designer.cs # XenAdmin/TabPages/GeneralTabPage.resx

Great. I'll watch their reply. |
It's now released: https://github.com/xcp-ng/xenadmin/releases/tag/v8.0.1.26 |
Describe the bug
Add the hosts server make and model to the General tab? XOA and VMware both display this and it would be nice to have.
