Summary

On macOS 15.4.1, using Zed version 0.185.15 (05596ab), the system Accent Menu (press-and-hold for accented characters) works correctly in the main editing area. However, it does not function in the Terminal panel. When holding down a key (e.g., e), the expected accent popup does not appear.

Expected behavior:
Holding down a key like e should bring up the macOS Accent Menu in the Terminal, just like it does in the editor.

Actual behavior:
Nothing happens when holding down a key in the Terminal; only a repeated character is entered, and no popup is shown.

Environment:

Zed version: 0.185.15

macOS version: 15.4.1

Accent menu works: ✅ in editor pane

Accent menu fails: ❌ in Terminal panel

Steps to reproduce:

Open Zed on macOS 15.4.1

Open the Terminal panel

Hold down a character like e

Observe that the Accent Menu does not appear

Additional context:
This behavior is consistent across reboots and with ApplePressAndHoldEnabled set to true. Accent menu works in macOS Terminal, iTerm2, and other native apps.
