I'm using Linux Mint 15 with barely UTF-8 support, running
python demo.py
will give the wrong encoding outputs.Using
unicode
and then encode it to the specified encoding is a good practice and easy to port across platforms. Also a file called
demo_linux-utf8.py
demonstrating encoding problems is presented.Besides
SWIG
approach, people may want to tryctypes
, demos for linux32 and win32 are provided with a brief README.
