Thank you so much for your continued response! Your answer does beg the question what to do once a device is dead/not working? Do I understand correctly that it will stay on the Zigate forever? There is no way of removing these?

yes, this is how it works, if the End Device is dead , then it will remain in the Zigbee controller and will use a slot in the Trust Center.
Some Coordinators (CIEs) implement a force removal function, but that is not the case on Zigate for now.
