As of the last count today the number of users between 7.4 and 8.1 has dropped to 8.3%. I still believe moving to 7.4 first is a good idea. Looks like another bump to 8.1 should not take too long from there :) |

Looking at packagist stats this will affect about 1.5% of users. Moving to 8.1 would bump that number up to 12.5% which seems a bit much in one go.
Plan is to move forward to v5 reasonably soon after 8.4 is out.
