[General] How do I set up the node locally?

I know that the zksync-cli allows you to set up a dev node with one command. But I prefer to do it the raw way, i.e. build from the source code. Following https://github.com/matter-labs/zksync-era/blob/main/docs/development.md tutorial, but I don't know what does the zk means here? A compiled binary or something else.
