Travel Model 1.6 - Released February 2023
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about profound changes in travel pattern across the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area. To ensure MTC/ABAG is prepared for the analytical needs associated with Plan Bay Area 2050+ (which is intended to fulfill federal and state requirements as a Regional Transportation Plan and Sustainable Communities Strategy), MTC/ABAG staff implemented necessary updates of the Travel Model. These updates not only aim to better represent the region’s work-from-home (WFH) behavior and the changes in mode preferences post-COVID, but they also seek to enhance the Travel Model’s utility for future scenario exploration for the rapidly evolving situation. More details are provided in TM 1.6.0 Calibration and Validation Report.
