Release v1.0.10
Windows 64-bit binaries.
New Functionality
-
When running more than one copy of Minimalist Media Player, e.g. to compare different resolutions of the same movie, you would typically use Ctrl-9 to arrange up to four (it used to be 9) MMP windows so they can be viewed simultaneously. You can now press [V] to synchronize the [V]ideos so they're all playing from the same point in the video. Although [T]abbing through a video will effect all the windows, they can still get out of sync depending on how fast they (and MPV) respond on your machine. [V], is therefore handy for when they're out of sync. You can reposition the video in any of the windows (e.g. by tabbing or by clicking on the progress bar) and then press [V] for them all to play from the same point.
-
A minimalist playlist can be displayed/hidden by pressing [P]. The playlist will resize itself to the media window for aesthetic purposes and will stay attached to the media window if it is moved or resized. You can scroll or page up and down the playlist with the up and down arrow keys or with the Page Up and Page Down buttons on your keyboard, or with the mouse wheel. A highlighted playlist item can be played by pressing ENTER. Or, you can double click any entry in the playlist to start playing it. The currently playing item will be highlighted.
Tweaks and Fixes
- The reset buttons for brightness and panning are now [2] and [3]. Previously, they were the other way around. This is to facilitate memorization. With [1] resetting the playback speed to [1]00%, the three resets that follow, [2] Brightness, [3] Panning, [4] Rotation, are in alphabetical order. If you still forget, just remember that Backspace resets everything.
- The audio window resizes itself correctly depending on whether MPV displays an image for the audio or not. Previously, after playing an audio with an image, the window remained the same size as the previous image even if there was now no image to display.
- Panning (Ctrl-Up arrow, Ctrl-Dn arrow, Ctrl-Left arrow, Ctrl-Right arrow) can be sped up by holding down Ctrl-Shift instead. This doubles the rate at which panning occurs.
- You can run the .exe directly and then drop a media file onto the window to play it. When dropping a video, the window now resizes correctly to the aspect ratio of the video.
- The muted/unmuted state is now remembered between media files. Previously, the media was being unmuted at the end of a media file.
