…indBlockIndex Summary: bitcoin/bitcoin@9ce9c37 --- This thing has been merged (D4803) and reverted (D4959) before. Seems to be working correctly now, with the lock to m_cs_chainstate in ActivateBestChain having a corresponding one in UnwindBlock. Concludes backport of Core [[bitcoin/bitcoin#15402 | PR15402]] Test Plan: cmake -GNinja -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Debug ninja check check-functional also build without this patch, invalidate block #6 or similarly deep, see that bitcoind memory usage just keeps going up, even past 30% on my 16GB machine. build with this patch and do the same, memory usage stays steady at ~12% no matter how far you disconnect blocks. Co-authored-by: Calin Culianu <calin.culianu@gmail.com> This is commit Bitcoin-ABC#6 from: bitcoin/bitcoin#19988 Slightly modified for BCHN. Original commit message: Whenever a transaction is added to the mempool or orphan pool, both its txid and wtxid are considered AlreadyHave, and thus will eventually be removed from m_txrequest. The same is true for hashes added to the reject filter, but note that sometimes only the wtxid is added (in which case only the wtxid can be removed from m_txrequest).

Summary: Yet another iteration on this but this time confirmed with local build and debug logs. We can still pin these versions, so we should. imo we should leave these debug logs in case there are future issues with CI, e.g. could happen if a diff lands that updates 2 modules at once, may need to see what dep got in. DO NOT MERGE THIS PR - it is just for future reference.
As discussed, we may not want to completely remove the NULLDUMMY code.
However, this PR does completely remove it (I hope).
I will submit another PR which just disables it in tests etc. until that code is decided to be reactivated again.
