Can support be added for PHP 7.3?

How many who are asking for this are using the docker image separate from GCP or using GAE's custom runtime?

Will there be a release this year??? Even PHP 7.3 will not be active this December!

I have no idea I'm sorry. I'm trying to raise the Googlers who manage this but it doesn't seem to be a high priority internally.

@donmccasland Is there progress? When do you plan to run PHP 7.3?

We should rename this issue to 'Upgrade to PHP 7.4'

It would be good to have both 7.3 and 7.4 as 7.3 is supported by App Engine Standard Environment.

When are you planning to upgrade to PHP 7.3?

It looks to me like they're not planning on upgrading this. Last time to get any responses from anyone I had to contact Google's Enterprise support to get something moving. It's likely this project hasn't had anyone else take it over again.

It would be really good to know if this is even on the roadmap. We are happy with App Engine but if we are not going to be getting upgrades to 7.3/7.4 then we will need to look at migrating to a different provider.

The lack of response to this issue makes it seem like App Engine for PHP isn't even supported. That's a shame, because the service is otherwise great and I'd like to pay for it again, but at the moment it's too risky!
