A lot happened in the end of Q3 into Q4 2021 folks, here are some highlights:

  • OTF finished their security audit of Hypha in August 2021 and the issues were completed over the course of Q3 - Q4 into the new year. The discussion around security of this collaborative OSS project is in a security access only role in our forum - developer maintainers should all be aware of this comms channel and how to participate. You can find a discussion on a private page of the forum here.

  • Alongside these security issues we responded to the log4j news with a pinned thread on the forum where any future potential security new can be posted, responded to and updated: https://we.hypha.app/t/pinned-security-vulnerability-concerns-with-other-technologies-that-may-or-may-not-impact-hypha-instances/222/2

  • Reporting feature has started! over Q4 we scoped and began to understand a big feature around how Adopters want to do reporting within hypha in a variety of ways. Design research and dev preliminary estimation is starting Jan 2022. Find out more here.

  • OTF continues to improve features from their own finance perspective - for Adopters interested in API's that help import finance systems we have a recorded conversation available between Eriol, Fredrik & Shrikrishna. View the forum post here and access the video.

  • Updates to Django 2.2.26. (#2677) pip packages (#2659) and node packages. (#2667)

  • DDP and ARDC working on their own instance set-ups of Hypha and keen to participate in community collaborative projects in 2022. DDP hopes to start using Hypha for a funding round in Jan 2022.

  • We started a Documentation Working group to better understand and support the user documentation processes that Emily is leading on. As of January 2022, documentation working group is on hold until a new time/frequency is found to fit into interested folks schedules. Find out more here. Until then keep up with docs improvements here on Emily’s spreadsheet and here on the GitBook docs website. A reminder that anyone can write documentation if an when they have time 😄

Upcoming in Q1 2022

  • Governance and how we continue to collaborate, communicate and be aware of what is happening across the Hypha OSS ecosystem. Proposal will be ready for Adopter consideration by the 2022 Maintainer/Adopter Summit.

  • Summit planning - what would you all like covered in the summit?

    • Request for 1 day of Adopters sharing how they use Hypha and a ‘knowledge share’ type of sessions.
    • Request for the summit to be no longer than 2 days and be well structured to be valuable uses of time for Adopters.
