Installation

Using the installer

The easiest way to install Impact is by using the Installer. From the Installer's Releases page you can download the latest version of the installer. You should click on the .jar or the .exe file (depending on which OS you have) in the Assets section of the latest release, for example:

Example download

Once you have downloaded the .jar Installer, you need to run it with Java 1.8 (also known as Java 8) or newer, so make sure you have Java installed first! For the .exe Installer, execute the file. It will run and look something like this:

Example installer

Simply select the Minecraft and Impact versions you wish to install and click the Install button. If compatible OptiFine versions have already been installed, you will be able to create a profile that makes use of one of them. See Adding OptiFine for more detail.

Manually installing

This guide is for Impact 4.5 and 4.6

Before installing, make sure that you have the corresponding version Vanilla 1.12.2 or Vanilla 1.13.2 installed (start Minecraft with the corresponding version).

  1. Open up "Run" (WIN+R)
  2. Type %appdata%
  3. Press "OK"
  4. Open the folder .minecraft
  5. Drag+Drop the 1.12.2-Impact_4.6 or 1.13.2-Impact_4.6 folder into versions
  6. Launch Minecraft
  7. Create a new profile using the just installed version
    • You may have to scroll through the versions drop down a bit
  8. Launch the profile, and you're done!

Other operating systems

Rather than using WIN+R and navigating to %appdata%\.minecraft, instead navigate to the .minecraft directory location for your Operating System. All subsequent steps are the same.

  • Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft
  • Linux: ~/.minecraft
  • Mac OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft
